LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Punjab government is setting up a solar power plant of 100 megawatt in Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park with its own resources and the project will be implemented expeditiously.
He said that work on provision of infrastructure for the project is being carried out speedily.
He said that 12 prominent companies in energy sector have pre-qualified for the project. He said that 100-mw solar project will prove to be a role model in energy sector.
He was presiding over a high level meeting here on Monday which reviewed the pace of progress on the 100-mw solar power plant in Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction over the pace of progress on the project and appreciated the performance of the German consultant, Chairman Planning & Development, Additional Chief Secretary Energy, Secretary Communication & Works, Chief Executive Officer Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park and other concerned authorities.
German consultant Gerone Dressman while informing about the progress of the project said that Punjab government has selected a highly suitable site for this purpose.
He said that the construction work of link roads for Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park has been completed while the work of provision of other facilities is being carried out speedily.
He said that this project of Punjab government is an important step in energy sector.
Chief Executive Officer Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park Najam Shah gave a briefing about the progress of the project.
