JZT holds mega VOLCON event
LAHORE (PR): University of Central Punjab (UCP)’s JZT (Jehad for Zero Thalassemia) organised a mega event ‘VOLCON’ on Tuesday which was attended by volunteers from all over Pakistan. Patients of Thalassemia along with renowned personalities including Dr. Yahya Gulzar (WHO), Dr. Nauman khan (Unicef, Punjab Coordinator), Rizwan-ul-Haq (UNFPA, Punjab Team leader), Dr. Khizar Ashraf (WFP, Program Consultant), Farhan Ahmed (Founder of Pakistan Children Heart Foundation) and Famous Journalist Sohail Waraich, Dr. Ajmal Niazi, Arshad Ansari (President of Lahore Press Club), Taufeeq Butt, Najiha Baig, Murtaza Bashir Dar, Dr. Zakir Hussain, khalid Qayyum and Tariq Jutt were part of this event.
On this occasion, founder of JZT, Ghulam Dastgir said that a fatal disease like Thalassemia can only be eliminated by taking precautionary measures. He further stressed on getting a thalassemia test done before marriage so that this disease can be wiped out.
President of JZT Yasir Iqbal has worked day and night for this cause and has appreciated his fellow workers. He further added that our aim is to make Pakistan a thalassemia-free country. More than 500 volunteers participated in this event making it a huge success.

New delicacies turn up to Marriott
ISLAMABAD (PR): Marriot Islamabad threw an extravagant showcase for the sweet lovers. The elites were famished to see the creamy and vast varieties of new cakes, macaroons, cupcakes and chocolates, all by our new executive pastry chef, Prins.
Ambassadors and CEOs with their spouses and guests from all over the twin cities attended the event. The decorative and theme based cakes cupcakes, bite sized delicacies outshined the event.
The event was hosted by famous Pakistani model, Natasha Hussain, who interviewed the new pastry chef and asked him about his vast 18-year experience in the culinary world. The delicacies portrayed a scrumptious variety of cakes.

Taybah Group new project
LAHORE (PR): Taybah Group, a Middle East based Group with a solid industrial background specifically in the steel industry, has decided to enlarge their business in the Asian region by producing rebars for internal and foreign markets by investing in latest generation of Danieli continuous casting-rolling, compact, micromill (whose brand name is MI.DA®). The plant, which is the 1st phase of a two-stage investment program, will have a rated capacity of 500,000t/y rebars with a start-up of the plant early 2018.
This will be the first MiDa plant in Asia, confirming to be the most competitive solution for regional markets worldwide.
The contract signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of Danieli & C. in Buttrio/Italy recently with the participation of executives of both parties.

Bayer recognised as ‘best place to work’ in Pakistan
KARACHI (PR): In a ceremony held recently, co-hosted by Engage Consulting and PSHRM (Pakistan Society of Human Resource Management), Bayer Pakistan (Pvt) Limited was presented with the prestigious award of “best place to work”. ‘Best system integrator in ME’

Warid’s new insurance service
LAHORE (PR): Warid Telecom has launched a new low-cost accidental insurance service called BIMA, which provides Warid customers with an easy way to protect the financial future of their families for as little as Rs. 30 per month. Warid’s BIMA product has already paid out its first claim, giving the family of a tragically deceased customer PKR 300,000.
BIMA has been designed in partnership with MILVIK, a leading provider of mobile-delivered insurance and health services, and the innovative insurance company, Alfalah Insurance.
Warid has introduced this option for customers so that they can access the security that comes with insurance through an affordable and convenient mechanism. BIMA is available in four tiers: the most affordable Silver plan starts at only Rs. 30 per month and the maximum cover on the Diamond plan is PKR 1,500,000.
Warid’s BIMA is available to prepaid customers who simply need to SMS “BIMA” to 9878 (at no charge) after which a MILVIK agent will call them within one working day to discuss payment plans and options. By the end of October, BIMA product will also be available for postpaid customers.
Unlike other insurance products, Warid’s BIMA offers a straightforward claims process; customers only need to SMS ‘Claim’ to 9878 and they will be contacted by a claims coordinator who will guide them through the easy preparation of the claim forms. Valid claims will be paid within just a few days of filing a claim.
The first claim has already been paid, giving PKR 300,000 to the family of Javed Iqbal, a BIMA customer who passed away in a tragic accident. Mr. Iqbal was the sole breadwinner and sadly leaves behind a family of four dependents; the money will be used to fund the further education of his eldest son, Nouman Javed. The claim was processed by MILVIK and paid by Alfalah Insurance within just two days of filing.
Gulnaz Shehzadi, wife of the deceased said “We are thankful to God and also to my husband for deciding to purchase Warid BIMA which will help us get through this hard time.
