Govt to promote chefs profession

LAHORE (PPI) - Minister for Industries Punjab Ch Abdul Ghafoor has said that Punjab government would promote chefs training in public sector and government would encourage such institutes which were promoting this profession. He stated this while addressing the first convocation of Chefs Institute of Pakistan (CIP) at Punjabi Complex Gaddafi Stadium here on Thursday. Principle CIP Dr Maqsood Ahmad Yazdani, Chairperson Trade Testing Board Punjab Meharul Nisa, Chairman Poultry Association Punjab Raza Mehmood Khrsand, senior chef Zubair Khan, chef Sajid Hussain Qureshi and Aamir Bhatti also addressing on the occasion. Ch Abdul Ghafoor said Punjab government was committed to eliminate the unemployment and young generation should get the professional education for securing their jobs. The minister also distributed certificates among the students. Principle CIP Dr Maqsood Ahmad Yazdani said that some 140 students passed the professional chefs examination held under Trade Testing Board. He said that Pakistani chefs were serving all over the world and they were important source for earning foreign exchange in abroad. Chairperson Trade Testing Board Punjab Meharul Nisa said that CIP was the first affiliated institute and it was promoting the chef trade in Punjab. He emphasized that educated people must join the chef profession for a better future and they could serve the country through their skills.
