Ufone, PRCS collaborate to facilitate flood-hit on Eid
ISLAMABAD (PR): Pakistan’s premier telecom operator Ufone has joined hands with Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to pursue its tradition of remembering the flood affectees through thick and thin. Ahead of Eid, Ufone and PRCS have collaborated in an effort to provide food items to areas where floods devastated livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of families reside in Chitral.
In line with Ufone’s vision of helping people and giving back to the society, Ufone has handed over a consignment of 1 week of ration for 1000 families to PRSC, after the latter helped Ufone in identifying key areas which needed immediate attention.
The areas in which PRSC will be serving as a distributor are Bamburait, Rumboor, Reshun, Mulkhow, Orghuch, Doom Shugohre, Garam Chashman, Zitur, Droshp and Brep.
Expressing his views Amir Pasha Head of PR & CSR Ufone said, “Ufone along with PRCS has taken this initiative to facilitate these floods hit brothers by providing them with much needed rations fulfilling their immediate needs, so that they may not feel left behind on this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.”
Regarding this initiative, Dr. Rizwan Naseer General Secretary at PRCS said, “It is indeed sad that so many people lost their livelihoods because of the recent catastrophic floods, this initiative was the need of the hour and we highly appreciate Ufone’s efforts in this regard, as this would not only provide timely relief to the flood affectees, but also bring smiles on their faces on the upcoming Eid.”
The flood relief rations have been handed over to PRCS by Ufone for the distribution, in a ceremony held at PRCS Headquarters. This will not only provide a quick relief to the affectees but establish a sense of equality among the Chitrali citizens on the nationwide occasion of Eid.

Murree Brewery Group opens new industrial unit
RAWALPINDI (PR): Governor KP Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi along with Isphanyar Bhandara inaugurated the new industrial unit of Murree Glass and congratulated the management on achieving another milestone of success.
Talking at the inaugural ceremony of new industrial unit of Murree Brewery Group with the name of Murree Glass at Industrial Estate Hataar, Governor KPK appreciated the spirit of Isphanyar Bhandara, CEO of Group and MNA (PML-N), for huge investment in KP and also acknowledged the contribution of Murree Brewery Group in industrial sector which has provided business and job opportunities.
President Workers Union Chaudhry Saleem, General Secretary Nazar Hussain Shah, prominent industrialists and high officials of KP present on the occasion.
Governor KP said it is need of hour that we should promote economic and trade activities to overcome poverty and backwardness. He said despite of law and order situation and terrorism not only in KPK but also in rest of country, the patriotic Pakistanis preferred to invest in the country and it is good example of Hataar Industrial Estate where heavy industrial units had been established by the investors.
Isphanyar Bhandaray said that Murree Brewery upholds the golden traditions of investment in the country and new industrial units would be opened to accelerate business opportunities. He lauded the active role of industrial workers who had worked hard for keeping production units alive. He also announced 10 day salary bonus for workers of Murree Glass and said that we have excellent working relations and administration always paid regards to the workers.

Adamjee celebrating 8yrs of excellence with Suzuki
KARACHI (PR): Adamjee Insurance celebrated 8 years of excellence with Pak-Suzuki’s management and their dealerships for their efforts in promoting the Suzuki Insurance Program in a memorable evening at a local hotel in Karachi.

Telenor research deploys data against dengue
OSLO (PR): A new study by Telenor Research in conjunction with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Oxford University, the US Center for Disease Control, and the University of Peshawar, demonstrates the power of mobile data to predict and track the spread of epidemic disease.
The study, “Impacts of human mobility on the emergence of dengue epidemics in Pakistan”, analysed anonymized call data records from more than 30 million Telenor Pakistan subscribers during the 2013 dengue outbreak, using the large sample to accurately map the geographic spread and timing of the epidemic.
The data was aggregated and anonymized within Pakistan. The resulting model contributes to the design of more effective national response mechanisms in Pakistan and other at-risk nations, while demonstrating the potential for call records to accurately reveal mobility patterns that can help combat and predict the spread of virulent disease.

Ian Majewski joins Orient Group

He joins from Omnicom South Africa where he was Director for Trading and Operations based in Johannesburg and played a key role in maintaining the group’s number 1 position in the market via several major new business wins. Ian started his career in TV sales in the UK, thereafter moving over to the agency side with Carat, Y&R and CIA MediaNetwork (Now MEC). His first move abroad was to Warsaw, Poland running DMB&B’s media department and then over to Moscow with Universal McCann before moving south to Africa as the Sub-Saharan Media Director.
