New tech to create jobs

Hafeez Sheikh HYDERABAD - The President Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries Seth Goharullah has said that induction of new technologies and qualified persons in local glass bangles industry would not open the doors for jobless people but it also help in saving the foreign exchange which currently being spent for import of glass bangles from Germany, France, China and India. The President HCCI expressed these remarks while addressing the meeting of the Board of Directors of Glass Products Design Manufacturing Centre (GPDMC) here on Saturday. He welcomed the start of technical training, research and other activities, which carried out in Glass Products Design Manufacturing Centre established by Pakistan Small and Medium Enterprises on the directives of federal ministries of trade and industry and said that it would help in manufacturing quality glass bangles in the local industry. Seth Goharullah agreed with the demand of the members of Glass Bangles Association that practical training should be provided from Indian experts of glass bangles with installation of machines in GPDMC and assured the General Manager SMEDA that HCCI would extend full cooperation in this direction. The General Manager SMEDA Iqbal Ahmed Qudwai while briefing the meeting that under Phase-II of the Project, Rs 20 million are being spent for construction of sheds, furnace and latest machinery and the training of glass bangles on modern direction would be started soon. The Project Manager Glass Products Design Manufacturing Centre Asif Ali Shah informed the meeting that state of the art machinery in the centre would be installed soon, however, at present, training is being provided to trainers through auto-cad. Among others, Mukesh Kumar, Muhammad Madni, Mohiuddin Siddiqui, Imdad Ali Shah, Iqbal Halephoto and Muhammad Islamuddin Khan also attended the meeting.
