And the most prestigious award of the evening goes to the most attractive man in music: Justin Timberlake! For all the work he’s done to cross artistic boundaries with his music, Justin has a well deserved award to show for it - and gave an inspiring speech to boot.
There are few artists who can say they’ve had the kind of career that Justin Timberlake has had. From boy bander to leading man to global superstar, JT has brought attractive back again and again with his music, which is why at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday night, he was awarded the iHeartRadio Innovator award!
The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles had nothing but love for Justin as he made his way up to the iHeartRadio Awards stage to accept his award. The audience jumped to its feet to show their support for all the great music he’s created over the last decade. After accepting his award from Tom Ford, Justin addressed the audience, both in the Shrine and at home, and sent a special message to all the young fans watching him. He explained that growing up, he was called “different” and “weird” but that his mother told him that being different was a good thing; it meant he would make a difference. And so he most certainly has! After thanking all of the amazing people who work with him day in and day out on creating his sound, he then thanked his “best friend and collaborator,” his wife Jessica Biel, and share how he just couldn’t wait “to see our greatest creation yet” - their first child together! Aww! So sweet!
Pharrell Williams won the innovator award last year, and in a video message to Justin, Pharrell called J.T. a pleasure to work with and agreed that he’s helped change the landscape of music. Also in the video, Justin received love and praise from his friends Jimmy Kimmel, Timbaland, Andy Samberg, and Taylor Swift, who probably said it best, when she said, “no one is operating on the level that you are.” They sure aren’t, Justin!
