Ashraf resigns from Pemra

ISLAMABAD - PML-N Leader, Chuadhry Muhammad Ashraf Gujjar advocate, yesterday resigned from his position as a Pemra member in view of his serious reservations against its new administration.
He shall submit a detailed report to the prime minister on the present affairs of the Pemra and reasons behind his resignation, said a press release.
Gujjar stated in his resignation letter to the President: “In pursuance of Section 6 of the Pemra Ordinance, 2002, you were pleased to appoint me as a member on the recommendation of the prime minister. I was the first member who even refused to accept the honorarium paid to the members for attending meetings of the authority. In the given circumstances, I am unable to serve the institution in my capacity as its member.”
