Ilamabad - Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan will inaugurate the first state-of-the-art National Database and Registration Authority mega centre in Islamabad having a capacity of processing 2000 applicants on daily basis.
The step has been taken to facilitate the general public and avoid long queues at the existing facilities. According to a press release issued by the Interior Ministry yesterday, the biggest National Database and Registration Authority centre would be functional at Blue Area in the federal capital.
The facility, having a seating capacity of 300 persons and 34 counters, would entertain the general public seeking CNICs, child registration certificate and family registration certificate in minimum possible time.
The capacity of the existing NADRA centres is processing 500 applications daily.
The whole processing would be completed on a single counter, the spokesman for the ministry said. He said initially, the centre would be opened for general office timings but the duration of the centre would be extended gradually.
He further said that on the directions of the interior minister, six NADRA mega centres and 15 executive passport offices would be set up across the country in near future to facilitate the general public.
