Nadra chairman tightening noose around the corrupt

ISLAMABAD - On the special directives of the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chairman NADRA has started to tighten the noose around the black sheep in NADRA. An automated auditing system (AAS) that records each and every transaction of the employee processing an applicant CNIC is developed and deployed. The audit logs are checked periodically for suspicious activity.
The system is based on foolproof technology that generates electronic alerts automatically in consequence of any unauthorized or illegal activity against SoP takes place. This system will help weed out the corrupt elements and ensure efficient service delivery to the citizens of Pakistan.
In this regard the NADRA Regional Head Office Peshawar has monitored illegal Registration in Kohistan district after keeping a close watch on the staff activities at work. The staff activities and data acquisition was monitored technically for a certain period. Subsequently, an unsuccessful illegal registration attempt was made by the staff, which was caught forthwith through NADRA’s automated auditing system and the record of the processed individuals was blocked immediately.
NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik has consequently taken a prompt action and ordered an extensive inquiry to identify the black sheep and unveil corrupt elements in the instant case. Inquiry in this respect was conducted very professionally and the alleged staff was found guilty of charge on which his termination orders were issued forthwith. Moreover, after thorough scrutiny and investigation of the incident a group of agents was also identified prompting and bribing NADRA Staff to process illegal ID cards for their personal gratification.
Tariq Malik ordered to hand over the details of the identified agents to FIA for further legal action against the culprits and bring them to justice. When contacted, the Chairman NADRA confirmed the deployment of AAS and said this early warning system proactively identifies the culprit before damage is done and in case somebody still able to outsmart the system, it is very useful for post mortem analysis of the illegal or unauthorized processing of the case.
It is also pertinent to mention here that the Chairman NADRA has also taken disciplinary action against those employees who were found guilty of charge in related cases. So far 74 employees have been dismissed from their services following reports of using automated auditing system in current year.
