ISLAMABAD: A Shaheen Air International flight, NL901 made an emergency landing in Karachi, after the aircraft's tyre burst during take-off on Friday evening.
The plane was scheduled to fly from Islamabad to Manchester, carrying around 150 passengers and crew. But it was asked to make an emergency landing in Karachi following the tyre burst.
The aircraft ran a circuit pattern around Quaid-e-Azam International Airport before making an emergency landing after the emergency services and Air Traffic Control had cleared the runway.
Same incident occurred back in November 2015, when at least 10 passengers were injured as the tyre of a domestic flight burst during an emergency landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
The plane skidded off the Lahore runway when faulty landing gear caused the tyre to burst damaging the fuselage of the aircraft, according to initial reports.
