ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad police on Sunday registered an FIR against one of its serving police inspectors and arrested him on the charges of raping a 15-year-old girl at gunpoint.
Sub Inspector Narmain Badshah allegedly harassed a teenage couple that was dating in a park situated in the jurisdiction of Shalimar police station on January 23, 2012. According to details, the inspector took them to the police station first where he locked Awais (the girl’s boyfriend) in his office.
He, however, took the girl, Haseena, to his flat where he allegedly raped her at gunpoint.
The police had come to know about this shameful act of its officer fifteen days later when the little girl told her parents about what had happened to her.
This made the parents to produce the little girl before Inspector General of Islamabad police who immediately ordered inquiry to dig out facts.
In the meanwhile, the Shalimar police station, following the receipt of the victim’s application to register FIR against the inspector, registered a case under section 376 PPC against SI Narmain Shah on Sunday and arrested him the same day.
“The police were waiting for the medical report,” investigation officer Sub Inspector Mansha Hussain said when contacted by TheNation by telephone.
According to sources, Dr. Nasreen of PIMS had conducted medical of both Awais and Haseena on Saturday. Complete medical report including DNA result is expected next week.
