Anti-dengue walk held in capital

 islamabad - The district administration of the federal capital yesterday held an anti-dengue walk from National Press Club to Super Market to raise awareness amongst residents of the city regarding danger of the disease.

The walk was led by Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Mushtaq Ahmed while, people from different walks of life participated in it.  Capital Development Authority (CDA) and health department also collaborated with district administration in this awareness activity.  Around one hundred people with majority of women under the supervision of the DC began walk at 11:00am.

Talking to media persobs, DC Mushtaq Ahmed said, “The district administration will make all-out efforts to eliminate dengue and provide safe environment to the citizens.” Participants were holding different placards to spread precautionary information regarding dengue fever and its in-time diagnosing.

A female participant of the rally talking to The Nation said that such awareness campaigns must be encouraged because information can play important role in eliminating this epidemic. The DC also said that responsibility also falls on the part of people and they must take steps in their homes to keep the environment clean.

Anti-dengue campaign has been extended till end of this month due to increase in number of patients.
