Proper sewage system needed before dengue season in Sadiqabad: Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI- Lack of sewerage system has posed health hazards to the residents of Sadiqabad. The recent rains have left the area into small ponds of filthy water and they have become breeding places for mosquitoes.
“Dengue fever season is ahead and we fear that these ponds will turn into death traps for us and we will have to either to shift from this area or have to fall victim to this fatal disease. But our elected representatives are not constructing a proper sewerage system”, said group of residents.
The manholes are lying open and continue to gush out filth and excrements but the respective department is not placing lids or cleaning the area. Residents of the area demanded proper sewerage system or threatened to hold protests.
