Houses may be sealed if owners failed to provide details of tenants

Islamabad: Around 300 house owners in the capital have been served final notices to provide details of their tenants to the police.
The final notices have been issued on the directives of the interior minister who has asked the police to collect details of residents, including foreigners residing in Islamabad.
Due to security concerns, the interior ministry has been trying to register every individual residing in the federal capital for the last 18 months.
According to sources, around 430 house owners had refused to give details of their foreigner tenants during a household survey conducted by Nadra and police, sources in the interior ministry and the police said.
According to the sources, of the 300 houses, 185 were located in Kohsar a police limits, 99 in the Margalla police jurisdiction while the rest in other areas of the capital. Police said that mostly citizens of the US, European countries and other countries were staying in these houses.
A police officer said houses would be sealed if the owners and the foreigners ignored to furnish details.
