1,009 bikes impounded over one-wheeling

Rawalpindi - City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi have impounded a total of 1,009 motorcycles in different police stations while launching a grand operation against one-wheeling.

Similarly, police penalised some 195 underage drivers of vehicles and motorcycles, informed Acting Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Iftikhar ul Haq yesterday.

According to him, CTP following the instructions of RPO and CPO have launched grand operation against the one-wheelers and under age drivers across the city. He said that police have caught 1009 motorcyclists involved in showing stunts on roads and impounded their bikes in police stations. He added that similarly police issued fine tickets to 195 underage drivers of vehicles and motorcycles. “I have constituted a numbers of special squads to stop one wheeling in the city,” Acting CTO said adding that one wheeling was banned as its not only put the live of riders but also road users in great danger.
