At least five persons were killed and several others injured in fresh spate of violence in different localities of the city on Tuesday,
According to details, unidentified gunmen opened fire near Star Gate at Shahrah-e-Faisal and shot dead a man.
In Sachal area of Gulistan-e-Johar an unidentified man was killed in firing by armed miscreants.
The police recovered a dead body, stuffed in a gunny bag, from Adam Khan Road in Lyari area. Police sources said that the deceased was tortured and shot dead after abduction. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital.
Dead body of another person was recovered from a house in Nazimabad area. It was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, while another dead body was found from Maripur Road.
The identity of all three victims was not yet known. 
Firing incidents continued in different areas of Karachi including Mubeena Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Lyari, Nazimabad, Mauripur during which nine persons were reported injured.
Meanwhile, police during a raid in Peerabad area have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered drugs and arms from their possession.
