Altaf vows to foil conspiracies against peace

KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Monday warned “conspirators” to end hatching conspiracies against his party and stop supporting terrorists.Addressing a huge gathering on the 34th Foundation day of All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation (APMSO) via telephone, Altaf said that MQM was a reality, and should be accepted as such, saying that conspiracies against the MQM should be dropped in the better interest of the country.He further said that he would tell state institutions and the government that his party is a reality and appealed state institutions and the government to learn from the mistakes of the past and not to suppress the people. He said that Pakistan today faces a number of enemies, within and from outside. Altaf Hussain described the events which led to dissent among East Pakistanis and the eventual creation of Bangladesh, and said that back then, voice of the people was suppressed using a number of tricks and tactics, and the very mistakes were being repeated today. He added that the same tactics were being used to suppress the voice and mandate given to the MQM. This is why MQM was being targeted in Karachi, efforts were being made to divide the party.He alleged that his opponents, and those criminal elements involved in target killings and kidnapping for ransom were being given money and arms to target the party and create a situation of lawlessness.Altaf Hussain vowed that conspiracies against his party would not succeed like past and said that he would not give up.Regretting over the present law and order situation of Karachi, he said that extortionist and target killers have been set free in Karachi, adding that not only Karachi but also whole country is facing bad law and order situation. He said that he was the one who called for the need of French-like revolution in Pakistan saying that the people who used to make fun of my ideology are shouting slogans of revolution; the reality is that they don’t know even the meaning of revolution.Speaking to Sindhis he said, “Sindhi Brothers, MQM doesn’t want division of Sindh.” adding that we are against the division of Sindh.Altaf Hussain urged religious scholars and clerics to play their role for the maintaining of religious harmony and tolerance in the country to foil the conspiracy of sectarian and ethnic violence.He said that sacrifices of the APMSO have and unending history in the country and congratulated the activists and office bearers of APMSO on the occasion of 34th foundation day of the organization. He said that the struggle for a peaceful revolution in the country had started with the birth of the APMSO on 11th June 2012.Altaf added that the APMSO had the unique distinction of having given birth to the revolutionary party the MQM. He said that the APMSO was playing the role of a vanguard for bringing a revolution of the 98 per cent people belonging to the poor and middle classes in the country.He further said that said that there could be no hope for progress unless the dual education system was done away with. He asked the workers not to forget the sacrifices rendered by the martyrs. He exhorted them to utilise their abilities for the benefit of the people and spread the party message effectively.
