Jamaat chief calls 10-party alliance a pleasant change

KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawar Hasan has termed the 10-party alliance a pleasant change and referred to it as a single contestant against MQM in upcoming elections. Addressing a ‘Tarazu Road Caravan’ from Karachi to Peshawar, organised by Shabab-e-Milli on Sunday, the JI chief said the chapter of seat adjustment with any party had been closed and the party would contest elections individually. He added that the seat adjustment chapter had been closed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf while PML-N has closed it in Punjab.
He said the JI was a ray of hope for the deprived people and on the day of elections i.e. May 11, the people would definitely reject the slavery of the United States. However; the JI would take part in elections having faith in Allah and the people of this country.
The JI chief appealed to the youth and others to vote for ‘Tarazu’ to make the country prosperous and wealthy, adding that the JI leadership would eliminate corruption, extortion and terrorism after coming into power.
Hasan also demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the paid advertisement of different political parties being run on various TV channels. JI Sindh chief Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, Naib Ameer Sindh Asadullah Bhutto, JI Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, President Shabab-e-Milli Sindh Azeem Baloch, General Secretary Shabab-e-Milli Pakistan Qaisar Sharif and others also spoke on the occasion.
It may be mentioned here that the ‘Tarazu Road Caravan’ which started from Karachi will end in Peshawar while a model of JI electoral symbol ‘Tarazu’ is also being carried by the caravan.
