BB’s 61st birth anniversary celebrated

KARACHI - The 61st birth anniversary of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) late chairperson Benazir Bhutto was observed on Saturday.
The PPP arranged function in various districts of city to celebrate the anniversary while main function was held at Bilawal House Karachi. PPP central leaders donated blood and offered Fateha for the soul of country’s former prime ministers Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
Speaking on the occasion, PPP leader and chief guest of the ceremony, Syed Owais, said that terrorists killed Benazir Bhutto but her philosophy and vision was still alive.
Benazir devoted her life to strengthen democracy, struggling through the selfless sacrifices for the people of country, he added.
Owais further said that PPP always sacrificed for the stability of the democracy and would not hesitate to make further sacrifices to strengthen the democratic future for the security of the country. “PPP government in its consecutive regime in a province followed the vision and reconciliation policy of Shaheed Benazir”, he added.
PPP leaders including Qadir Patel and Najmi Alam also spoke on the occasion and paid tribute to Benazir Bhutto.
Earlier in a message on the occasion of Bhutto’s 61st birthday, PPP Patron-In-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on all political forces to unite in support of our armed forces who are fighting against the terrorists under Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
“There should be no space for partisan politics at this time. All political forces should be united in supporting our armed forces and working to help IDPs,” he stated in clear-cut policy statement especially in a situation where country is faced with a do or die situation.
Bilawal said that the best way to pay tribute to his mother Benazir Bhutto in current national scenario is to donate blood for the soldiers fighting on the frontlines against terrorism and to take full care of the Internally-Displaced Persons (IDPs). He also announced the formation of PPP Workers Volunteer Force to facilitate the IDPs.
Similar celebrations were held in other parts of Sindh and country to pay tribute to the late PPP chairperson.
