Habib University gets charter

KARACHI - Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad signed the bill for the establishment of Habib University.
He commended Habib University terming it as “an excellent addition in the higher education sector for imparting quality education.”
The Charter had been unanimously approved by the Sindh Assembly in June 2012, with the ministers and assembly members recognising and lauding the House of Habib’s vital contribution towards the social sector in Pakistan.
Rafiq M Habib, chairman, board of governors, Habib University acknowledged the key role played by Pir Mazharul Haq, Sindh Minister for Education, Syed Faisal Subzwari, Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs, and Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Minister for Finance and many others in ensuring support and goodwill for the university.
 He thanked the governor and said, “We are grateful to Ebad for the smooth passage of this Bill.
With the support of the provincial government, we are one step closer to actualising our vision of establishing a world-class centre of excellence in Karachi.”
