Paramedics out for rights

LAHORE – As part of a protest campaign, the Punjab Paramedics Alliance held a demonstration on Jail Road Tuesday to press for the demands of service structure, health risk allowance and regularisation of contract employees.
Dozens of paramedics, led by PPA Chairman Malik Munir, gathered outside Services Hospital to protest against lack of interest on the part of bureaucracy to implement the chief minister’s orders. Carrying placards and banners inscribed with writings in favour of their demands and against the government, paramedics chanted slogans against the bureaucracy.
Munir said that the CM had ordered secretary health over five months back to resolve problems of paramedics within three weeks. He alleged that the bureaucracy was using delaying tactics and violating CM directions. He said the paramedics had no other option except to launch protest for fulfillment of their legitimate demands.
