Two killed as friends clash

LAHORE Two men including the son of a journalist were gunned down by their friends over unexplained dispute near Begam Kot, Miraj Park in Shahdara police precincts on Wednesday evening. The deceased were later identified as Khurram Butt, diamond foam dealer, and his friend Imran. Both were the residents of Chaman Park. According to details, five people were playing cricket on the rooftop of the godown on Wednesday evening. They engaged in quarrel over unexplained issue resultantly Riasat Jutt and his accomplice Ali opened indiscriminate fire on Khurram and Imran, SHO Shahdara Sharif Sindhu told this scribe when contacted. He said apparently the incident seemed an old enmity but nothing could be established before seeking any tangible evidence. According to him, the accused had been enjoying good family relationship since long but there must be something different behind this incident. He said both the murderers targeted the deceased one by one, adding Khurram Butt, 32, suffered 11 bullets while his friend Imran, 30, received five bullets. Sindhu further told the accused managed to flee from the crime scene before the police approached the site. We have recovered bullets shell from the spot. The bullets were fired by two pistols of 30 bores, he added. Later, the heirs of the deceased including a local TV anchor Abrar Ahmed, father of Imran, approached the police station concerned. No case was registered till filing of this report. Sindhu maintained that the accused would be arrested soon. Further investigations were underway.
