‘No worker met President at Bilawal House’


LAHORE – President Asif Ali Zardari did not meet the party workers at Bilawal House on Friday, Presidential Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said.
Rejecting a media report, the spokesperson said on Saturday that the president neither addressed the party workers nor any press release was issued by the Presidency in this regard.
He said Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Asharaf did call on the president and a formal statement was issued about it, but no other political activity took place at the Bilawal House.
Farhatullah said that the Presidency's Media Office will regularly issue updates on president’s activities during his stay in Lahore. The spokesperson also regretted the inconvenience caused to some journalists who visited Bilawal House for coverage.
Zardari-Naek meeting: President Asif Ali Zardari has called Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naek for consultation.sources said.
The president will receive legal input from the Law Minister on Balochistan situation, besides installation of a new government by lifting governor’s rule is on the rife at the political level.  Sources say that legal issues involving interim set up and allied matters would also come under discussion.
Earlier, the President and PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the Data  Darbar and laid a wreath on the grave and offered dua for the country and the nation.
Punjab Governor Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mahmood, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira, PPP Central Punjab President Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo and other PPP leaders also accompanied the President to Darbar.
A very tight security was maintained in and around Darbar during the visit. The helicopter carrying President Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto landed at Minare Pakistan where from they were drove to Data Darbar.
