FC College gets a postage stamp

LAHORE: Punjab Postmaster General Fakir Sayed Shaharyaruddin revealed stamp highlighting 150 years of Forman Christian College (FCC) with Rector FCC Dr James Tebbe, Joint Secretary Ministry of Postal Services & Communications Sikander Jalal and other distinguished guests from the Pakistan Postal Service.
The stamp depicts Sinclair Hall which was constructed to mark the centenary of FCC and named after a devoted Principal Dr EJ Sinclair who served FCC for over fifty years as a faculty member and from 1962-1968 as Principal.
The building was designed by architect Nasreddin Murat Khan who designed the Minar-e-Pakistan. The depiction is by watercolour artist Anjum Zaheer.
Fakir Sayed Shaharyaruddin and Sikander Jalal congratulated their alma mater on successfully completing 150 years of service and wished it best for the coming years. A presentation on Pakistan Philately by renowned historian Fakir Syed Aijazuddin concluded the event.
PU ISCS dialogue today: Punjab University Institute of Social & Cultural Studies will arrange a round table dialogue on “Pakistan peace Initiative-Provincial Visions of Peace” on today (Tuesday) at 2:30pm in the Auditorium of ISCS. Minister for Human Rights Government of the Punjab Tahir Sindhu, Parliamentary Secretary for Labour Welfare Govt of the Punjab Mian Naveed, Chairman Human Rights Commission of Pakistan IA Rehman, PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, civil society representatives and renowned journalists will attend the event.
Results: PU Examinations Department has declared the results of Post Graduate Diploma in International Affairs Annual Examination 2013 and Diploma in Medical Radiology Therapeutics Part-I Annual Examination 2011. Detailed results are also available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk.–Staff Reporter
