LDA new directorate bulldozes house

LAHORE - The Directorate of Enforcement (DE), recently constituted by LDA to take action against illegal properties built on government lands, construction of building in violation of laws and encroachment, has rolled into action with full thunder. In the wee hours of Friday, staff of Directorate of Enforcement (DE) launched operation and bulldozed a 2-story house constructed on government land worth million of rupees in Johar Town. Sources revealed that DE Director Ahmed Aziz Tarar assigned two enforcement officer Waqas Noor and Nisar Ahmed to demolish the illegal construction at the Plot No 374-A, in Johar Town on emergent basis. During the demolition process, electricity went off. However, the activity continued in the darkness. Sources revealed that operation had to be launched in emergency on the directions of CM Secretariat. The policemen of Sattukatla police station remained there during demolition process that lingered on till dawn. It may be recalled that before the establishment of the Directorate of Enforcement, LDA Town planning Branch, Estate Management Branch and Metro planning Wing were obligated to pull down illegal building and encroachment in the LDA controlled areas.
