Nadra ordered to verify NA-128 votes

LAHORE - An election tribunal on Tuesday ordered National Database & Registration Authority to verify votes of NA-128 and PP-160, the constituencies from where Malik Afzal Khokhar and Saiful Malook Khokhar of PML-N were elected as MNA and MPA respectively.
Tribunal Judge Kazim Ali Malik passed the order while petitions moved by Karamat Ali Khokhar and Zaheer Abbas Khokar of PTI. Karamat Ali Khokhar contested election on NA seat but he lost while Zaheer Abbas also could not win the seat of PP-160.
Both the petitioners filed the petitions before the election tribunal saying that that the election was rigged and the mandate of the people was stolen. They also pleaded the judge to order re-election in both the constituencies and hold inspection of the record through Nadra. Both the petitioners had already paid for the expenses of inspection.
After hearing the arguments of petitioners’ counsels, the judges ordered Nadra for voters’ thumb impression and submit report within one month period.
