LAHORE - Punjab police have decided to modify the police verification certificate required by the people for going abroad or joining services in government as well as private sectors.
The decision was made by the Inspector General of Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office yesterday.
Addl IGP Training Capt (r) Usman Khattak, Addl IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl IGP Operations Capt (r) Arif Nawaz, Addl IGP Establishment Dr Arif Mushtaq, CCPO Lahore Capt (r) Amin Wains and other senior police officers attended the meeting.
Issues relating to the training of Special Protection Unit (SPU), capacity building of the Police Training School, passing out parade of Dolphin Force, issuance of ATM cards for the martyrs’ families and preparation of the lists of the ministerial staff who got out of turn promotion, and get change of their cadre in menial staff were also reviewed in the meeting.
It was decided that the Elite Police Force will be responsible to train the Special Protection Unit (SPU). This training course will be started from 22nd March, 2016 for the period of 6 months and will be held at Rawat Police Training, School.
A summary will be presented before the government to establish the new training school in Sahiwal, the meeting further decided.
Briefing about the passing out of the Dolphin Squad, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf told the IGP that 700 officials have completed their training, 300 motorcycles and 550 helmets have already been purchased for the purpose. He added that training of the rest of Dolphin Force’s batches will be started very soon.
