LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Wednesday provisionally suspended the transfer orders of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) Managing Director Arif Hameed who was directed to report to Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources by the caretaker Federal government.Petitioner Arif Hameed through his counsel submitted the caretaker government had exceeded its powers as it was not allowed Constitutionally to issue orders of permanent nature. He maintained the caretakers couldn’t make his transfer and posting.Citing the decisions of the Supreme Court, the petitioner requested the court to suspend the transfer orders by declaring it violation of the Constitution.The court after hearing initial arguments provisionally suspended the transfer orders and sought reply from the Federal government till May 29th.
