Senior JI leader laid to rest

Senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami and a companion of Maulana Maududi, Maulana Yousaf Khan breathed his last on Monday. He was husband of late Marium Jameela a famous religious scholar. He was 92 years old.
His funeral prayer was read by Ameer of JI Sirajul Haq and attended by senior leaders including, former Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan, Secretary General Liaqaut Baloch, Deputy Secretary General Dr Fareed Paracha and Chief Editor Roznama Pakistan Mujeebur Rehman, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Mian Maqsood Ahmed and Central Secretary Information Ameerul Azeem.
He was laid to rest in the graveyard situated in Allama Iqbal Town in the presence of large number of party followers, workers and sympathizers. He is survived by five sons and seven daughters.  
Maulana Yousaf had been elected Councilor three times in his constituency. Ameer JI appreciated his services for the party saying that Maulana Yousaf had worked tirelessly for the cause of Islam.
He said that Maulana Yousaf was not just a name but he represented a belief and an ideology whose aim was to guide the people on to the path of Islam. 
Death of senior JI leader grieved: Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of Muhammad Yousaf Khan, a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami and close companion of Moulana Abul A’la Maududi. Expressing his sympathies with the bereaved family, the Chief Minister also prayed for the departed soul.
