JI observes prayer day

LAHORE - The Jamaat-e-Islami has observed prayer day across the country in memory of martyrs of Peshawar school.
JI chief Sirajul Haq, addressing a gathering at Mansora, condemned the incident and termed it a heinous crime against children. He said that the martyrdom of children was a big tragedy not only for Pakistan but also for entire Muslim world. He also announced cancellation of the JI public rally in the Lahore December 21 and JI public meeting at the Mazar-e-Quaid Karachi on December 25 because of the Peshawar tragedy.  
Sirajul Haq emphasised that the solution of terrorism and lawlessness lay only in the enforcement of the Shariah which provided solution for all human problems. The JI chief said it was the responsibility of the state to enforce the sentences announced by the courts. He appreciated the show of national unity in the wake of the Peshawar tragedy and the All Parties Conference presided over by the Prime Minister.
