LAHORE - Pakistan hockey star Rehan Butt named best player of Asia for the year 2008 in Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday. Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation Asif Bajwa received the award on behalf of Rehan. The AHF also awarded Life Time Achievement award to late Brig. (r) Manzoor Hussain Atif on his services towards hockey. Meanwhile, President PHF Qasim Zia and Secretary Asif Bajwa attended the AHF Congress and Council meeting. The PHF delegation raised their voice about representation of Pakistan in various AHF committees. The AHF also decided to allocate grant to developing hockey countries. Bajwa said that PHF delegation also held meetings with officials of India, China, Malaysia, Korea, Bangladesh and Oman. All these countries gave assurance of their full support to the PHF.
