Special seats fixed for women in LG polls

LAHORE - Member National Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad and MPA Mian Marghoob Ahmad has said that in order to give relief to women candidates in the upcoming Local Bodies elections from door to door campaign, special seats have been fixed for them.
They said that there will be no direct election held on women seats, labour, youth and minority seats but Chairman and other elected representatives would elect the members on such seats.
They disclosed this while addressing a meeting of Sabzazar Welfare Society, held at the residence of President Saeed Aassi on Tuesday. The meeting was held to review the upcoming LG elections. They further said that Election Commission monitored limitations of wards without any interference of the MNAs and MPAs on which we also have reservations.
They also assured their support to the Sabzazar Welfare Society in the elections. The meeting was attended by members of society including Afzal Khan, Mian Riaz, Farha Deeba, Liaqat Ali advocate, Arshad Butt and they all also spoke on the occasion.
Later, Fateh was offered for Muhammad Rafiq Zaid, younger brother of Saeed Aassi.
