IGP fires three corruption-tainted DSPs

LAHORE - Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera on Tuesday dismissed from service a Deputy Superintendent of Police and ordered compulsory retirement of another two DSPs on the charge of corruption, misuse of power, and faulty investigations.
A police spokesperson said the IGP awarded punishments 14 DSPs of various districts during orderly room held at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Tuesday. The punishments were awarded to the cops after allegations of misconduct, corruption, and collusion with criminals were proved true against the police officers.
DSP Abdul Latif Kanju of district Muzaffargarh was dismissed from service on the charges of failure to supervise the investigation of case (FIR No.02/14) police station Bait Meerhazar wherein a college girl, Amina Bibi, set herself on fire. Similarly, DSP Muhammad Afzal of district Khanewal was compulsory retired on the charges of corruption, and DSP Tahir Mahmood of Gujranwala was also compulsory retired on the charge of collusion with criminals of case (FIR No.950/13) police station Civil Lines Gujranwala.
DSP Muhammad Nadeem Butt and DSP Mian Absar Ahmad were awarded punishment of withholding of increment for one year on the charge of failure to ensure proper and correct supervision over the investigation of case FIR No.730/11, Ghaziabad Lahore.
DSP Riaz Ahmad of district Okara awarded a punishment of Censure on the charge of poor performance, DSP Hamid Mukhtar of district Sialkot awarded punishment of censure on the charge of non-professional attitude and lack of supervision.
Also, DSP Muhammad Tanveer of district Multan was given punishment of Censure on the charge of failure to supervise the investigation of case (FIR No.715/11) of City Shujabad, DSP Sharafat Ali of district Lodhran was given a punishment of Reduction in Rank from DSP to Inspector on the charge of mitigating the nature of offence in case FIR No.389/13 PS Qrueshiwala, FIR No.442 & 443/13 PS Sadar, Lodhran.
 DSP Nasarullah Khan of district Mianwali was awarded punishment of Reduction in pay by three stages on the charges of conducting an impartial enquiry in Narowal and Non-Compliance of orders of DPO Mianwali regarding performance of duty, DSP Shahid Mehmood Butt of district Faisalabad was given punishment of Reduction in pay by two stages on the charge of failure to report the sectarian activities of one Shoaib Ishaq, DSP Mukhtar Ahmad of district Vehari was awarded punishment of withholding of increment for two years on the charges of failure to ensure proper and correct supervision over the investigation of case FIR No.220/11 PS Danewal, district Vehari, DSP Daud Husnain Abbas of Vehari awarded a punishment of withholding of increment for one year on the charge of failure to ensure proper and correct supervision over the investigation of case FIR No.521/12 PS Mitroo, Vehari, whereas, DSP Ghulam Mustafa of district Muzaffargarh was awarded punishment of Censure on the charge of lack of supervision in the registration of case FIR No.351/12 PS Khanghar, district Muzaffargarh.
Meanwhile, the provincial police chief has warned that there is no place in the police department for the corrupt, incompetent, and dishonest officers. The IGP also said that internal accountability would continue to purge police department from black sheep.
