Beaconhouse opens The Learning Tower

Lahore (PR) –Beaconhouse-Newlands School on Sunday inaugurated a four storey library tower at its campus in DHA.
The four storey glass and concrete structure called the Learning Tower, is the latest addition to the campus facilities.
The building has been designed to provide an exceptional environment to students with dedicated floors encompassing the development learning for early years at the day boarding school.
The Learning Tower was inaugurated by Beaconhouse School Systems Chairperson Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Kasuri said “The tower embodies our innovative vision, one where the library is a centre for the circulation of knowledge, where information produces learning rather than mere circulation of books and trafficking of information, where students are intentional learners rather than consumers, where librarians are educators rather than suppliers, and where print and digital mediums co-exist”
Principal Beaconhouse-Newlands Phil Straw says that the facility was the first of its kind at a school in Pakistan.
The Learning Tower has 15,000 plus books on vast genres and an access to unlimited world of global e-books available online. The school has also initiated some great initiatives to promote reading as an activity for school children.
