Ignorance about KBD

Sir, politicians who are saying that we should build Bhasha Dam and not Kalabagh Dam show their total ignorance of the geography of the area. One look at the location map will show that neither Tarbela Dam nor Bhasha Dam can stop the flood waters of the tributaries of the Indus River, namely Kabul, Chitral, and Swat on the right bank of the Indus, and Haro and Soan on the left bank.
Neither will the two dams utilize the copious flows of these river-sized tributaries for storage or for power generation. The flood waters will keep flowing past the Kalabagh site to play havoc with south Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan every year.
Only Kalabagh Dam in five years time followed by Bhasha Dam can save Pakistan.
