Magnitude 5.4 earthquake strikes Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Sever Earthquake tremors were felt in different areas of Peshawar, Gilgit, Chilas and Islamabad.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 struck Pakistan at 0804 GMT, 117 km east of the Swat Valley city of Mingaora, at a depth of 43.4 km, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The tremors lasted for 30 seconds.

People panicked and started running out of their homes. There are no reports of damage or casualties yet.

Last year Pakistan had witnessed a major earthquake on 26 October 2015 causing a lot of damage in the northern areas.
