A large number of wedding guests assaulted a police party and got an accused freed from the custody after firing with weapons and damaging the Miani police mobile.
An FIR has been registered against 22 nominated and 150 unknown accused on the report of SHO SI Zafar Hussain. The police had raided the marriage venue at village Jeewanwal over alleged violation of the Marriage Act, Amplifier Act by doing aerial firing and using fireworks in the wedding of Tasawar Abbas.
The police had apprehended some accused on the spot which infuriated the others who attacked the police and got them freed. Meanwhile, one police official was injured. Police sources said that assailants also snatched cell phones and cash from the police officials.
