68percent men offering Friday prayer in mosque: Gallup Poll

Islamabad- A poll has found a decline in the number of men visiting mosques to offer Friday prayers, in the country.
According to a survey of the Gilani Research Foundation, carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 68 per cent men said, that they offered their last Friday prayer in the mosque while 30 per cent said they did not. The poll is a part of a five-part series on Friday sermons, by the Gallup Pakistan.

A nationally representative sample of adult men asked, “did you offer your last Jummah in the mosque or not?”, and in response, 68 per cent respondents said they offered their last Friday prayer at a mosque, 30 per cent said they did not offer the prayer at a mosque, while 2 per cent did not respond.

The same question was asked in 2012, when 86 per cent men said they offered their last Friday prayer at a mosque; while in 2014, 70 per cent men said they offered their last Friday prayer at a mosque, which has dropped to 68 per cent in 2015. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 838 men in rural and urban areas of all four provinces from January 26 to February 2, 2015.
