PM briefed on nuclear power program including K-2 & K-3

Islamabad- Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was given a briefing on Pakistan's Nuclear Power Program by Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, at the PM House today.

Matters relating to K2 and K3 power projects, as well as future projects which are being planned came under discussion. The Prime Minister said provision of funds for these projects would be arranged, in line with the NPP Vision 2050.

He said the government is taking all possible measures for meeting energy shortage in the country, including nuclear energy. He said all available options to generate cheaper and maximum energy, be explored including nuclear energy.

Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif; Minister for Finance, Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar; Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Rashad Mahmood and DG Strategic Plans Division (SPD) were present during the meeting.
