CM’s foreign visits: Petitioner asked to attach attested supporting documents

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has declared incomplete a petition filed by Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mehmoodur Rashid against foreign tours of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

When LHC Judge Shahid Wahid took up for hearing petition filed by Rashid against foreign visits of the chief minister, counsel for the opposition leader Shiraz Zaka took the plea that the chief minister undertook foreign tours without any justification, which inflicted heavy losses on national exchequer.

He said that under the constitution it was binding on the Auditor General to present details of foreign visits before the Public Accounts Committee but it has not fulfilled his legal obligation.

The court while directing the petitioner to attach attested documents with the petition declared the plea non-maintainable.
