NAB treating PML-N govt in Punjab unfairly: CM

LAHORE–Chief Minster Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that NAB is treating PML-N government in Punjab unfairly as it has overlooked the corruption practiced by Pervez Elahi government.

Speaking to a big gathering on the formal opening of the Rs12billion Land Record and Management System in 143 tehsils of Punjab here today, Chief Minister said the PML-Q government during Musharraf era misappropriated Rs90crore of the national exchequer in the name of land computerization but the NAB took no action on it. He dispelled the impression developed by some Sindh politicians that Punjab is screaming after NAB has put its foot on its tail. He said corruption of not a single penny was committed during all three governments he held in Punjab. He announced to quit politics if corruption of a penny is established against any of his governments. Shehbaz Sharif said they were not scared of NAB which was active in Punjab over the last many months and added, he would expose later why NAB is eschewing corruption of billions practiced by others.

The CM on the occasion also asked the patwaris and tehsildars to voluntarily return to the national kitty billions of rupees they minted through corruption in the past and he would help them come safe through the legal procedure.
