32 peacocks die of Newcastle in Tharparkar

­THARPARKAR - Five more peacocks died of the deadly viral Newcastle disease due to severe hot weather all across the district of Tharparkar taking the death toll to 32 in a short period of one week.
Tharparkar Wild Life Department sources said that five peacocks died of the deadly viral diseases locally called 'Ranikhet' in the outskirt  of village Pabohar here
Local people have claimed that several more peacocks were still suffering from the disease and the authorities have been dragging their feet over the matter.
While Tharparkar Wild Life Department Conservator, Lajpat Sharma said that the ailing peacocks have been taken into custody and medical tests for diagnosing their disease were being conducted.
