LAHORE  - RAW has increased funding of its mercenaries to fail peace efforts in Balochistan, it is learnt reliably.
The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) which had already been sanctioned special funds to keep Balochistan unstable, to damage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), got more funds to fail the Peaceful Balochistan plan.
RAW has pumped funds to separatist organisations besides providing them its own mercenaries to carry out subversive activities in Balochistan.
State security services sources told The Nation on Friday that communication catches of militants with their bosses revealed that the RAW has provided more funds to fail Peaceful Balochistan plan.
They said a militant handler, on a satellite phone was being offered US $1200 for a single medium scale successful subversive event. Earlier the saboteurs were being paid between US $400 and $800 for different kind of subversive and information gathering operations in Balochistan.
Indian external intelligence agency besides hiring new mercenaries of their own, has been offering remaining Baloch separatist commanders to keep fighting with renewed financial support. They assured them that feeding their fight is not a problem for the sitting government.
Attack on Jiwani Airport near Gwadar district was the first major subversion in Balochistan since the massive surrenders of several Baloch commanders belonging to Brahamdagh Bugti, Harbiyar Murri, Javed Mengal and Dr Allah Nazar’s militant groups. Harbiyar Murri’s BLA claimed the responsibility of the Jiwani raid.
According to sources, some of the surrendered separatist commanders told the security services that they were trained by the RAW agents in Kandhar, Khost, Helmand and Spin Boldak.
There were two types of training courses, the first consists of four-month regular combat training that include attacking security forces patrols, convoy from mountains. The other is special task force (STF) course of eight months. This special course trained militants in launching small scale guerilla raids and engaging forces. The training include sniper shooting, bomb making and handling the technical equipment to spy on the forces.
RAW besides training, also provided financial assistance for publication of propaganda material and video discs against Pakistan in Balochi language. These were distributed in Quetta, Khuzdar, Turbat, Gawader and Dera Bugti. Some of the CDs also reached Karachi and Lahore.
Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) signed an MoU to take out each other’s enemies which was not approved by the Afghan parliament. Anti-Pakistan elements in the Afghan establishment, which include the NDS, are assisting the RAW to launch proxy wars on Pakistani soil.
Security sources say some of the NDS officials facilitate meetings between RAW operatives and anti-Pakistan groups in Afghanistan.
The peace efforts initiated by the government last month under Pur Aman Balochistan plan (Peaceful Balochistan) offered amnesty to the commanders of separatist groups and monetary support to start a new life to become part of the national mainstream.
Estranged Baloch Brahamdagh Bugti head of Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) and Javed Mengal chief of Lashkar-e-Balochistan (LeB) are weighing their options to surrender after many of their important second-line commanders with hundreds of foot soldiers have already surrendered accepting the peace plan.
Same is the case with Nawab Harbiyar Murri, head of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Khan of Kalat Khan, Suleman Dawood Khan the other important separatist Baloch leaders but they are keeping mum over the peace efforts. Top leaders of Dr Allah Nazar Baloch’s Baloch Liberation Front has refused to lay down arms.
