Cadet College Qila Saifullah closed over security

CHAMAN - Cadet College in Qila Saifullah has been closed for temporary period and students have been sent on holidays ahead of Eid-ul Azha due to security reasons.

Principal of Cadet College, Qila Saifullah, Khaliq Dad Bazai said on Sunday that due to security threats, the college was closed for few days and students have been asked to return home.

“We have requested Pak Army to provide the college with security as it is situated in an isolated area where no more buildings were located,” he said.

“Army officers have assured us to provide security,” he said.

He said that now college would be reopened after Eidul Azha.

However, few students told media persons that security had been provided to the college and closing college several days before Eidul Azha would affect their education.

TERROR BID FOILED IN DERA BUGTI

The security forces foiled a major terror bid and recovered two bombs during operation in Dera Bugti on Sunday.

A spokesman of FC said that unidentified militants had planted two bombs by roadside in tehsil Sui of Dera Bugti.

He said that the paramilitary troops after getting the information regarding presence of suspicious material conducted a search operation during which two locally manufactured bombs were recovered.

The recovered bombs were later defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).

Spokesman of FC said that the extremists wanted to target the security forces who often pass through there and continue patrolling in the area but timely action prevented the terror attempt.

THREE SUSPECTS HELD IN CHAMAN

Three suspects were arrested in a ‘combing operation’ conducted by the intelligence agencies in Guldara Bageecha area of Chaman on Sunday.

According to security sources, the operation was launched on an intelligence report about the presence of terrorists in the suburbs of the city. The suspects were shifted to the undisclosed location for further interrogation.
