Islamabad: Non-payment of salary to daily wages employees of CDA since last 3 months has multiplied their economic woes putting them and their families at the brink of starvation. Owing to apathy of high ups of CDA, dozens of CDA daily wages employees which include senior audit officers, assistant directors and administration officers have not been paid salary since the last three months. The 4th month of their service has started but the payment of salary has become a distant dream. “The daily expenses during holy month of Ramazan redouble due to Sehri and Iftar and we were making our daily arrangement on credit. Now the shop keepers have refused to provide us groceries on credit due to non clearance of the last three months dues.  Where should we go”, said group of employees“ The private schools have expulsed our children due to our failure in payment of their fee for 3 months against summer vacation, said a wife of daily wages employee. The families of these employees have appealed to CDA to ensure early payment of salary otherwise they will be forced to stage sit in outside CDA office.
