ISLAMABAD - Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid has asked the international community to take notice of human rights violations at the hands of Indian forces in the occupied Kashmir.

Talking to a delegation of journalists of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said Pakistan will continue political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris for their right to self-determination and will also highlight the issue of Kashmir at national and international forums. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has raised the Kashmir issue with his Indian counterpart on different occasions.

Rashid said that the dispute should be resolved as per resolution of the United Nations and according to aspirations of Kashmiris.

The minister said that India could not suppress the freedom movement by atrocities, persecution and terrorist activities in the territory.

He said the government will take all possible steps for the safety of journalists and media workers.
