Kausar wants Fata literacy rate up

PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar, has said that no society can get progress and prosperity without focusing on promotion of education and the pleasant aspect in respect of FATA is that the literacy rate amongst female populace is in the increasing trend presently.
He was talking to teachers and students during his visit to the Government Degree College for Women, Parachinar in Kurram Agency on Wednesday.  MNA, Sajid Hussain Turi, Senator Rashid Ahmad Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, FATA, Tashfin Khan, Commissioner, Kohat Division, Sahibzada Muhammad Anis, Political Agent and other senior government officials accompanied the Governor.
The Governor listened to point of views of the teachers and students about the problems, which they have been facing in carrying forward academic pursuits.
 He said that a vast majority of our population comprises females and with this fact in mind, government is focusing upon promotion of educational facilities. 
This institution, he added, will also get full concentration in this respect.
Since the literacy rate in FATA, he added, is comparatively less as against the rest of the country, therefore, extra efforts are underway to provide educational facilities of the desired level in the area.
“We want to see youth of FATA as capable doctors, engineers, scientists in every field of life and no effort is being spared to make this possible”, he added.
Earlier, the Governor inspected the Para Chinar Public School and while going through its various sections and computer laboratories, he stressed the need for making optimum utilization of the available modern facilities in getting knowledge.
Later, the Governor laid the foundation stone of a Polytechnic Institute at Parachinar and inspected its site.
