ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari has returned the summary to appoint Justice Anwar Kasi as the Islamabad High Court chief justice, and sent it back to the prime minister, contending that Kasi was not the senior-most judge of that court.
It may be mentioned here that the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had given approval to the appointment of Justice Anwar Kasi as the chief Islamabad High Court judge.
According to Farooq H Naek, the president has found Justice Riaz Ahmed to be more senior than Justice Kasi. After rejecting, the president had sent the summary to the judicial commission and parliamentary committee for further consideration.
