BUREWALA/BAHAWALPUR-A ceremony was organised here to commemorate 58th martyrdom anniversary of Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider) at his tomb in Chak 253/EB of Tufailabad on Monday.
Bahawalnagar 16th Brigade Commander Brigadier Nazir Hussain was chief guest at the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, he termed his arrival at tomb of the martyr a great honour who had rendered his life in the defence of the motherland.
On the occasion, a contingent of Punjab 16th Regiment led by Guard Officer Lt Umar Ahmad presented guard of honour to the martyred tomb. Capt Waqas Ahmad, Vehari DCO Ali Akbar Bhatti, Burewala AC Ahmer Sohail Kaifi, TMO Rana Naveed Ahmad Khan, members of Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed Welfare Society and locals in a large number attended the ceremony and laid floral wreaths at the tomb. They also offered fateha for the eternal peace and rest of the departed soul.
