3 alleged target killers arrested in Karachi

KARACHI: Counter-Terrorism Department along with Sindh rangers claim to have arrested three notorious target killers-cum-extortionists belonging to a political party on Friday.
Ranger claims to have arrested a notorious target killer Moiz Saleem affiliated with a political party. The spokesperson said that the suspect arrest has been involved in numerous cases of target killings in a city. “He has been involved in more than 57 cases of target killings including target killings of two Rangers troops even he has been involved in firing on Rangers and police mobile vans,” the spokesperson claimed. The suspect was shifted to undisclosed location for further questioning.
Separately, CTD claim to have arrested two suspects during separate raids in parts of metropolis. One arrest was made when the CTD officials and personnel conducted a raid on a tip-off near Parking Plaza in Saddar from where they arrested an accused identified as Yaqoob alias Mama while the CTD officials also claim to have recovered a huge cache of dumped arms and ammunitions on the information provided by him. The accused was said to be affiliated with a political party. CTD officials said that the accused has been involved in more than ten cases of target killings of the men belonging to their rivalry groups or political parties such as Sunni Tehreek, Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi, Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan and Ahmed Magsi group of Lyari gang war. “In addition to the killings of the rivalry group members, he along with his companions has also been involved in a targeted killing of a former Brigade police station chief SHO Nasirul Hassan in 2010 at Lines Area,” CTD officials explained. The suspect’s one companion, namely Wasi Haider was arrested by Federal B Industrial Area police last month who was also involved in numerous cases of target killings including religious scholars.
On the other side, CTD arrested another suspect, namely Adnan alias Billu during a targeted raid conducted at Manghopir Road while weapons were also recovered from his possession. CTD officials said that the suspect arrested was involved in various cases of target killings, extortion and street crimes. The cases against them were registered while further investigation was underway.
